Round #3 of the SCCA ProRally Championship
3:00 PM EDT, June 7, 2003

  • Cars started coming back to The Green in Wellsboro about 2:15 PM. The restart has been delayed for one hour.

  • The crew for Car #116 (Lawless/Shinnors) is going to change the gearbox while back here at the Green in Wellsboro.

  • The drivers are commenting that the course is challenging, but not quite as treacherous as the roads at the Rim of the World Rally. The unseasonably wet and cold weather in Southern California was quite a shock for all who attended Rim this past May.

  • The skies are still dark and cloudy and most teams are putting on their light bars early due to the gloomy conditions.

  • Car #42 (Burmeister/Krolikowski) is running with a newly installed engine and reported that their car was "running better than expected."

  • Car #60 (Davis/Sorenson) hit a tree and bent the right front A-arm back into the wheel well. They will be able to continue with the help of an alignment done with a truck, chain and a lot of pulling.

Round #3 of the SCCA ProRally Championship
12:32 PM EDT, June 7, 2003

  • Jon Kemp (#80/Audi quattro) blew his engine on yesterday's practice stage and had to withdraw.

  • Leon Styles/John Dillon (#374) started the rally today after renting Bruce Perry's 1999 Mitsubishi Evo. Chad DiMarco, with Styles as co-driver, blew a connecting rod on yesterday's practice stage.

  • Steady rain through the night brought the creek crossing to over 15", leading to the cancellation of Stage 1. An alternate stage will be used.

  • First car off at 11:32 EDT. The rain continues, yet it doesn't seemed to have stopped any of the spectators. The Green is a seas of umbrellas as they have come out to view the Parc Expose and start.
