Phil started rallying in the mid-1970s with various clubs in the Rochester, NY area and progressed to all-night TSD events. It was a short step to full stage rallies, the first being STPR in 1980 as a driver. What has followed is a rich history of events in the US and Canada, as both driver and co-driver. Phil continues to be an active competitor and brings his years of experience to the organization of STPR.

Plan and prepare the rally route and schedule, coordinate with local towns, property owners, and gas companies, and handle stage prep and mapping with the Spectator Chief. Create all routebooks, Recce routes, and stage notes, and distribute planning materials to competitors. Ensure start/finish controls are correctly placed, support event operations from Net Control, and assist competitors as needed.

SueAnne Carson ( Registrar)… also know as self branded the STPRQueen who started out as Service Radio in 2002 and moved up the ranks in the committee from Service Radio to Service Area Chief, to Communications Co Chief , to Competitor Registration. And Co-Director for Marketing Committee. She makes sure things run smoothly for all her competitors prior, during and after the event. She has the familiar face that everyone knows as “ Aren’t you the girl from STPR.. and now even the “ Red Headed Girl in Boots” IF you can’t find her at STPR.. you can find her at another event from Kentucky, to Tennessee to South Carolina or Ohio!

Layout and Coordinate service operations. James started racing in SCCA Solo in 2007 in Central New York Region and founded the Central New York SCCA RallyCross Program. He served as the SCCA NEDIV RallyCross Steward and was introduced to stage rally when he organized a RallyCross at STPR in 2011. He then started competing as a Co-Driver for Wellsboro Native Jeremy Keck from 2013-2019. He looks forward to bringing his years of Motorsports organizing experience to the STPR Committee.

Ron has been volunteering for STPR since 1998 working in medical. In 2022 he took over as coordinator after the passing of Joe “Bear” Bergen. Ron coordinates Medical at the spectator areas and with local EMS teams for STPR. Ron is a paramedic in the Philadelphia area specializing in event medicine. He can be seen on the 25-yard line every Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field as one of the field paramedics for the Philadelphia Eagles. Ron also works as a paramedic on the medical teams at Pocono Speedway and New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Aakash, a lifelong rally enthusiast, attended his first rally at just six months old in Dubai, where his passion for the sport began. He became one of the youngest marshals, learning the ropes alongside his father and earning the Youngest Marshal Award from his idol, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem. After moving to New Jersey, he discovered rallying in the U.S. and volunteered at STPR since 2002 and began competed at STPR and NEFR in 2015 with support from Billy Petrow of Broken Motorsports. He has since crewed internationally, served as stage captain at STPR and SOFR and taken on key safety roles at SOFR. This year, Aakash steps into the role of STPR’s Chief of Controls, bringing a wealth of experience to the position.

As a safety volunteer, I was responsible for ensuring the safety of competitors, volunteers, and especially spectators at designated viewing areas. My duties began pre-rally on Tuesday, where I met with committee members at the fairgrounds, assisted with various tasks, and gathered necessary supplies like banner tape and radios. On Wednesday, I joined volunteers to set up spectator areas. During the rally, I supported tasks on Thursday as needed. On both Friday and Saturday, I coordinated with crews at designated gathering points and managed safety at spectator locations.

Backup Amateur radio communications as most 4X4 team members are Amateur radio operators.

Provided help with medical responders at a rally accident.

When all else fails, they [ Net Control ]call Heavy Sweep as they have backed up most jobs at STPR.

Robert Susz has been doing Rally Cross, Safety Sweep, and course opening cars for stage rally since 2014. And using the same Subaru Forester the whole time! He’s worked at STPR, ESPR, and WMWR for many of those years. He took over as Chief of Safety Sweep for STPR in 2022 after the passing of John Werner.

When not at STPR he is working on older Subarus or newer Audis. His day job is as a Technical Project Manager for Re:Build Optimation; a company in Rochester, NY that makes custom-designed automated machinery.
